Mikaela’s journey started with friendship bracelets at a lemonade stand and a mom who casually called it “macrame”—long before she knew what that meant. That early creative spark stayed with her, eventually growing into a full-blown passion for all things knotted, fringed, and beach-inspired.

During the quiet days of a pandemic summer, she returned to her roots, knotting bracelets for friends and experimenting with new materials and techniques. What began as a hobby quickly evolved—camera straps turned into coasters, bottle totes, and eventually her signature macrame crossbody satchels.

A lifelong beach kid with a love for boho style, Mikaela launched Sea Spirit Design Co. to bring that sun-soaked, salt-air energy into everyday accessories. Now four years in, she continues to be inspired by the maker community and the freedom to create on her own terms.
